Thankfully, several e-health innovations are rising to challenge. Kangpe Health in Nigeria, MedAfrica in Kenya, Matibabu in Uganda and Hello Doctor in South Africa are all mobile apps that help patients get important medical advice from doctors.

ConnectMed in Kenya allows patients to access doctors via a video link (such as Skype) on their computers, tablets or smartphones and get prescriptions, sick-notes, and referrals.
